In general you can pay for parking by bank card, in cash at selected locations, and for short-term parking also online via the Parkum app (see the Online payment tile). At the P+R Hlučínská and P+R Hranečník park-and-ride lots you can additionally pay with an ODIS card or DPO credit. The specific methods vary by location – for example Smetanovo náměstí and Poděbradova accept card and Parkum, Janáčkova accepts card and cash, Seidlerovo nábřeží only accepts season tickets, and Msgre Šrámka square accepts cash. Among the parking garages, card and Parkum are accepted at the parking below the University of Ostrava, the DK Poklad I and II garages and the garage at MNO (which also takes cash). The Prokešovo náměstí underground car park and the Černá louka multi-storey car park take card and cash, while Dubina Garages accept cash only. It depends on the specific location. Some surface lots and parking garages are free on weekends and holidays – Smetanovo náměstí, Poděbradova and Janáčkova. At Msgre Šrámka square you pay on Saturdays from 8:00 to 15:00 (CZK 20 for the first half hour, then CZK 40/h), and parking is free on Sundays and holidays. At the park-and-ride lots charging continues: P+R Hlučínská CZK 10/24 h (CZK 1 with connecting public transport use), P+R Hranečník CZK 10/h, max. CZK 60/24 h (CZK 10/24 h with public transport use). The parking below the University of Ostrava is free on weekends and holidays; Dubina Garages, the garage at MNO, the DK Poklad I and II garages, the Černá louka multi-storey car park and the Prokešovo náměstí underground car park are charged – see the detailed overview in Operating rules and prices.

In paid parking zones (parking meters, no barriers) a time limit applies on working days from 8:00 to 18:00; a vehicle transporting a ZTP or ZTP/P holder parks here free of charge (CZK 0) for up to 4 hours. A valid "Parking card identifying a vehicle transporting a person with a severe disability" must be displayed visibly behind the windscreen together with a parking disc showing the arrival time. In surface lots and parking garages, parking is governed by the operating rules of the given location – ZTP/P holders have reserved spaces, but the parking fee applies the same as for other drivers unless the operating rules explicitly state a discount.
